piercing: 예리한 / 날칼

- She glared at me with a sharp[piercing] look. 

  : 그녀가 나를 뚫어지게 쳐다보았다.

- She wears a mini skirt in spite of the piercing cold.

  : 그녀는 강추위에도 불구하고 미니스커트를 입고 있다.

scold: 꾸짖다

- If you scold your child too much, he will lose confidence.

 : 애를 너무 나무라면 기가 죽는다.

- It was only a mistake, so don't scold him too much. 
  : 실수로 그런거니, 그를 너무 나무라지 마라.

leap from ~: ~에서 뛰쳐나가다

- leap from a seat
  : 자리에서 벌떡 일어나다.

- She took her own life by leaping from a bridge (into the river).

  : 그녀는 다리에서 투신자살했다.

in a breath: 입을 모아, 일제히

- She solved the problem all in a breath.
  : 그녀는 단숨에 문제를 풀었다.

- I hadn't seen her for 20 years, but I recognized in a breath. 
  : 그녀를 못 만난지 20년이 지났지만, 단숨에 알아보았다.

the moment ~: as soon as~ ~하자 마자

- I want to see him the moment he arrives.

  : 나는 그가 도착하자마자 만나고 싶다.
